As technology improves ... so
does the number of apps ... and the quality of the apps ...
available for IOS and Android tablets and cellphones.
When at the dock ... or on a voyage ... having various apps
that are easy to view on a cellphone or tablet can greatly enhance
your boating time.
When on-the-go the captain steering the boat can see where he/she
is relative to the shore and towns on their GPS mounted at the
helm.
Passengers on the boat are unable to view the GPS screen from
their seat ... but they can view a cellphone or tablet from
anywhere on the boat so
an increasing number of boaters are equipping their boats with
a tablet that can be used and viewed by the "crew"
or passengers on the boat.
Notice that some apps are ONLY available for Apple devices,

ALARMS
Whether you are relaxing in the sun ...
or at night ... setting an "Anchor Alarm" will notify you
when your anchor is dragging
and your boat may be headed into shallow water, deep water, a weed bed
or an area of deadheads. Even when simply relaxing with
friends on your boat you may not notice your boat drifting due to wind
or currents that you didn't even know existed in an area.
Not setting an anchor alarm could cause you hours of frustration and
possibly a great deal of expense. Be safe. Set your alarm.

There are several HD pan/tilt wireless cameras
with night vision and audio on the
market but we like this one because it can be used with a Apple
or Android phones or tablet ... it has "motion sensing"
and when that activates it records and sends the owner an email
alert that the camera has noticed movement and is recording.
